Took chapter 7 test.

(No Homework assigned)
Reviewed for chapter 7 test TOMORROW. (See below for chapter 7 test review answer key)
Finishing up candy heart project - discussed exponential growth & decay scenarios and associated equations.
Homework: try to finish questions on pages 3 & 4. Projects will be due on MONDAY. Continued work on candy heart project, finishing experimentation with pouring of hearts and answering questions on page 2.
Homework: finish graphs and page 2 questions Started our "Have a Heart for Math" candy heart project, pouring candy hearts from a cup, keeping the face-up hearts and discarding the face-down hearts, and repeating this process until no hearts were left to pour. This is a hands-on investigation of the behavior of exponential functions.
No homework assigned - project to continue in-class tomorrow. Took the chapter 7.3 & 7.4 quiz on exponent rules (powers raised to powers and division of same base numbers with exponents) and reviewed chapter 7.5 (rational exponents and radical expressions). Without enough time remaining in class to start our project, we will hold off until Tuesday.
No homework assigned. Spent some time reviewing for the chapter 7.3 & 7.4 quiz TOMORROW, then worked on simplifying rational (or fraction) exponents, including rewriting rational exponents as radical expressions and rewriting radical expressions as rational exponents.
Homework: page 450, #11-33 odds Reviewed & practiced exponent rules from chapters 7.3 & 7.4 for a quiz on FRIDAY.
Homework: worksheet - 7.3 side #9-27 odds & 37; 7.4 side #3-14 Started by reviewing exponent rules from chapters 7.1 - 7.3, then added another rule for dividing powers of the same base (subtract the exponents).
Homework: page 442, #9-23 odds, #33-53 odds |
